[opensuse-kde][TW] no KDE/Plasma session in KDM
plasma5-session-5.8.4-1.1 is installed, yet there is no KDE or Plasma session to select in KDM[1]. Isn't /usr/share/xsessions/plasma5.desktop, which exists (as does kde-plasma.desktop), the requisite file for KDM to find and offer? .xsession-errors is absent. Nothing helpful shows up in Xorg.0.log. What could be wrong? [1] only KDM provides necessary configurability. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Yes. But the actual start command (/usr/bin/startkde) needs to exist as well for KDM to show that entry. Is that there?
.xsession-errors is absent.
That will only be created when you actually login.
Nothing helpful shows up in Xorg.0.log.
That's the X server log, it is to be expected that it doesn't show why an entry is missing in KDM... Kind Regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
