Hi all, Here is a problem, I would like for you to put some thought into! I can't seem to start KWord now. All the other modules/parts work nicely, but not KWord. I can start KOffice, but if trying to open a kword doc, it fails. Here is the error from a konsole attempt: koffice (lib kofficecore): ERROR: Couldn't find the native MimeType in kword's desktop file. Check your installation ! I get this same problem from the orginal koffice files from the SuSE 9.0 and the newer updated 1.2.93 files. I have recompiled from src and do notice that the kofficecore is built correctly. I can start and operate KWord as root without problems, so it appears that the problem lies in my user account. Any thoughts? Yes, replying to my own mail, but didn't want you guys or gals exerting brain power over something I have already fixed. Seems my user was the only one this kword starting problem affected, so I went searching. Using the error message helped in leading me to the culprit that was causing my problem. Located the errant kword desktop file in ~/.local/share/appplications directory. Seems the menu items there have a very lasting affect on other things too! Removed the kde-kword.desktop file in that directory and kword is happy again. Thanks for any thoughts, Lee -- --- KMail v1.5.4 --- SuSE Linux Pro v9.0 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...
