I am running SUSE 10.1 with the latest upgrades of KDE3 (3.5.4). I noticed that when I start KRadio the HD starts 'furiously' working - don't know if something is being read by KRadio or something being written to disc. And it's using between 1% and 1.51% of CPU time. This activity doesn't stop - until I shut KRadio down. Anyone know why the HD goes into a state of hyper-activity when KRadio is started and, more importantly, how to stop this activity? Cheers. -- Paranoia is simply an optimistic outlook on life.

Please have a look at: http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=28097 Note the snapshot date: 2006-09-20. Is your bug among the fixes in the changelog? Cheers, Leen

Thanks for this. I've looked at the changelog and cannot really say if the HD furious HD access has been solved. It certainly wasn't earlier tonight when I had kradio on and the HD was hyperactive but I can only assume that the new rpm for kradio hasn't come thru yet as part of the KDE upgrades (although a lot were done yesterday). I'll wait a day or so to see if new upgrades come thru which may fix this. Cheers. -- Paranoia is simply an optimistic outlook on life.
