Kmail: the address select window isn't resizable anymore...
Hello list, abput two weeks ago, I came in with the problem that I can't see the OK button in the adress select window of Kmail (the window which appears if one clicks on the three dots at the right side of to, cc, bcc). The window is so large in the vertical direction that the ok button is located below the bottom line of the monitor. To have access to this button, I must use the ALT key the left mouse key for moving the window upward, until the OK button appears. However, this solution is not very helpful, it's only a first workaround. To get rid of the problem, Randall R Schulz suggested: "It's a resizbale window. Once the edge is visible, it can be dragged to resize the window." Okay, if I follow this suggestion, I see the following behaviour: The lower window boundary moves over the OK button, so that the OK button is outside the window. So I assume that my address select window isn't resizable any more. I'm quite sure that I've forced this behaviour by my own, but I really don't know, when and how :-( Is there anyone who knows, how I can make this window resizable again? The setting of this windows must be stored annywhere? Who knows something about the location of these settings? Hoping for help... Alexander P.S.: I'm running SuSE professional 9.2, and the KDE of this distribution.

Almost sounds as if you have setup a virtual screen size to use just recently. Have you been playing with your graphics setup lately? You do need to be running at least an 800x600 screen, but if you set up a larger virtual screen, things will go out a bit. Just a thought. Lee

No, I haven't been playing with my graphics setup. This window is the only one, where I have problems. If anyone knows, where the windows settings of this window is stored, I have the possiblity to exchange this dataset with the one of another account, where everything works allright. Regards Alexander

I'm not sure which file holds the settings, but it's probably in ~/.kde/share/config Also, see if that window has any special settings saved. Right-click on the window's titlebar, highlight Advanced, try Special Window Settings and Special Application Settings. Alvin -- Please reply to the list.
