Hi Is it possible to compile/install only the kmailcool package from kontact ? Is there a rpm package for SuSE? Or at least a source package to contain only kmailcool?

You could get the latest CVS version of KMail, I suppose, to get all the features, since kmailcool is really only kmail with a lot of cool new features! :o) No other source files or rpms are available for kmail though. Just do the whole thing, kontact, you'll be happy you did. Patrick -- --- KMail v1.5.9.1i --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.1 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...

Hi I know this, I have installed kontact on my office machine and I'm very pleased with all that fancy features. The problem is that my home machine is an old PIII@450MHz and I tied to compile the package but after 3 hours of "make" the system was frozen. And this happened twice, already. I want only kmailcool to have this nice feature with the applet tray.

I did get a source tarball for kmailcool on the kontact web site (I believe). If you can't find it let me know and I can send it privately. Alternately, perhaps you could build your own rpm of kontact (or kmail) on your work machine (or let checkinstall build one for you) and transfer that rpm to your home machine. see ya - -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+kl8xBwgxlylUsJARArTRAJ0W2L8d46erUU4aUrhIo3AkpIJY9ACfahv+ gFB0/sw3MBf08HCheBjBqM0= =9STc -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Be aware that kontact is known to be buggy and experimental. In particular kaddressbook is known to crash and eat your address file. You should think about a backup of your ~/.kde directory :-) Ralf - -- We're not a company, we just produce better code at less costs. - -------------------------------------------------------------------- Ralf Nolden nolden@kde.org The K Desktop Environment The KDevelop Project http://www.kde.org http://www.kdevelop.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+kpaGu0nKi+w1Ky8RApJBAKCL//byWgbp57pnC0B/z+vAkmq/0QCgr9Ao 9y0RWxQzkFo/IalG/6uSHBc= =26uq -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
