Argh!! I don't like openSUSE's word wrap. I'm used to posting code on the forum. Roman OS: openSUSE 11.2 KDE-4.3.4 "release 2" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Awful! jfyi, openSUSE doesn't do "word wrap". *Your* chosen editor and/or mail client does the word-wrap.
I'm used to posting code on the forum.
and, if someone's reader does word-wrap, you have the same result. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

After some days back in town again, reading my thread on this forum. None of the solution works on my fresh installed OpenSuse 11.2 KDE system. The 2 files of Basil contain also the 2 above mentioned lines which fail on my system. jjm1:/home/hans # gconftool-2 -s --type=string /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/command "/usr/bin/firefox \"%s\"" Error setting value: Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/ for information. (Details — 1: Failed to get connection to session: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.) Is there a way to fix this ? It looks that I need to install the gconf2-branding-opensuse package which adds also a big part of the gnome desktop. Because I have a KDE desktop I don't like the installation of a 70MB part of the gnome desktop . To me it looks as the end of my clean install. Am I correct? Hans, I have heard this before on the forum. You are not supposed to run it as root but as regular user. This is why you are seeing errors. Try it again as user only. Cheers! The only gconf-anything I has installed is gconf2 which is only 855KB big. I do not have the gconf2-branding-opensuse installed (and in any case this is only 90KB big when installed).
