I have a similar problem. I updated to kde 3.4 from server: ftp.gwdg.de directory: pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.2/yast-source/ and had to uninstall kdepim3-organizer. In a second try, this package for kde 3.4 was found and installed, but some other packages were missed. So you have to give an exact example so that we don't need to check everything you mentioned in every version tree you mentioned.

kdepim3-organizer is not used anymore in KDE 3.4, so it has to be uninstalled before installing the other 3.4 packages which includes the functionality of this package.

That's the way it is. I just miscopied the links into my mail. kdegraphics3 is linked correctly to and kdegames3 is linked correctly, too.

Perhaps, if you re-examine your assumptions and look into ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.x/applicati ons you will note that akregator-1.0_beta8-5.i586.rpm, bookcase-0.11-3.i586.rpm, kdegraphics3-3.4.0-13.i586.rpm and gmatplot-0.4.2-297.i586.rpm can not be found there although there are symlinks for them under update_for_9.x/yast-source/suse/i586.

That's correct for akregator and bookcase, but kdegraphics3 is linked correctly as stated above (tried to download to test this) and there is no link for gmatplot at all. The missing akregator is no problem, because akregator is now part of kdepim3 package since kde 3.4. So this package is depreciated, too. I saw that kdemultimedia3-* was missing completely (still the old links to the 3.3.2 versions). It's only availiable in the SuSE 9.2 tree. Had to get the 9.2 src.rpm and rebuild to get the packages on SuSE 9.1 KDE 3.4...

I do thank you for mentioning that kdepim3-organizer has been depreciated although one wonders why kdepim3-organizer-3.3.2-3.i586.rpm is included in the supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.x/applications folder and symlinked as kdepim3-organizer in the supplementary/KDE/ update_for_9.x/yast-source/suse/i586 folder if it isn't supposed to get installed.

Yes, that's strange. Seems that the package admins didn't look close enough. By the way: I used apt4rpm to update this and it resolved all the depreciated dependencies automatically. Perhaps that could be a better solution for you than Yast2. Yast2 has the other side effect that you manually have to reread the source to get info about updates here. So peraps apt4rpm can help you here. Best, Daniel
