Please confirm: kontact 3.4.x unable to save to LDAP adressbook

I don't use LDAP for myself, but LDAP is thought as a "often read, seldomly write" public directory service. You can think of LDAP like your local telephone book. It's not intended that you note down your personal phone numbers here, because all other people in your house are using the same telephone book. It's intended to get numbers of people you don't know yet. So LDAP is used e.g. in a company: It's edited when new customers have been aquired or when new employees are joining the team. This LDAP administration is never done via a normal user LDAP client like a MUA. There has to be a LDAP "Administrator" using a special tool for writing to the directory. For your personal addressbook you just use the local one or, if you want it server side saved, then you could use the IMAP storage, which is of course private space, too.
