Remarks after successful Kde-3.3 install : OO and clockapplet.
Hi all, It's the first time I write to the list, but I carefully read it. I performed a kde-3.3 install on SuSE 9.1 without any problem. Everything works for me except 2 things. - OO won't start as previously reported, I didn't modify /usr/X11R6/bin/OOo-template, but I launch the app with the command : /opt/OpenOffice.org/program/soffice and I get the same result. - I reported a few releases earlier that the clockpanel applet is broken : it is no longer impossible to set the background color in a digital (non LCD) clock. I sent the following patch which has to be applied to kdebase3 : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- diff -ru org/kicker/applets/clock/clock.cpp mod/kicker/applets/clock/clock.cpp --- org/kicker/applets/clock/clock.cpp 2004-07-17 19:52:06.000000000 +0200 +++ mod/kicker/applets/clock/clock.cpp 2004-08-29 19:57:26.293488408 +0200 @@ -1026,7 +1026,7 @@ // let's propagate the background brush too if ((!_clock->widget()->paletteBackgroundPixmap() && _clock->widget()->paletteBackgroundColor() == paletteBackgroundColor()) - || paletteBackgroundPixmap()) + || _clock->widget()->paletteBackgroundPixmap()) { _clock->widget()->setBackgroundOrigin(AncestorOrigin); const QPixmap* brush = paletteBackgroundPixmap(); ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ which works very well, but it is not taken into account ! Take it if you are interested in. Michel.
