For the KDE desktop icons, are the horizontal and vertical grid spacings adjustable? I can't find anything in the Control Center or anywhere else. -Ti

It's not accessible over the Control Center. You can add or adjust a parameter for horizontal spacing in ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals. It's in Section [DesktopIcons] GridXSpacing=45 Bye Andreas Willenbrink
Hi Andreas! Good hint! Thank you! Do you know the setting for vertical spacing, too? It's not GridYSpacing... Tried that already... Greets, Daniel Am Montag, 16. August 2004 15:53 schrieb Andreas Willenbrink:

GridXSpacing looks to be marked as deprecated. The new setting is DesktopGridSpacing which takes an x,y value
Works perfect! Thanks! Daniel Am Montag, 16. August 2004 21:20 schrieb Anders Johansson:

Hey it works! This is with my newly upgraded KDE 3.3 on SuSE 9.1. The actual values needed are a bit strange, though. I set my desktop icon size to 32 and font to Sans Serif 8, and I had to set DesktopGridSpacing=60,10 to make it look right. Thanks for the tip. -Ti
