[opensuse-kde] Plasma 5: Configuring Window Shadows
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi All, I just wrote this for two things, first of all great work on Plasma 5, I just switched over to it last night and have really enjoyed it so far! Second, I was wondering if it was possible to change the window shadows in Plasma 5? Back in KDE 4 there was an option in System Settings that let you mess with a bunch of glow and shadow settings (eg. make the shadow darker, lighter, or "bigger"). Apologies if this was discussed before but my search showed nothing on the topic. PS. sent another mail earlier, wasnt subscribed to the mailing list and forgot it was mandatory now. Ignore it when it gets through, sorry! - -- Regards, Uzair Shamim -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJVQEoZAAoJEM66EOTZRH6+jRYQAI2CNRUm+uKbvYd0+K0WlAu8 V88CTS5d8vZDf/Yi/BkbGmhu3fik6yX0YajW96onq1kiemyz92pxGV8cxna2Z43S LfHaumsih0pt42oljwlMv7tkyes8Hx4jtqqOqUFaQy1QvC5ITkKWjDw3HCdcl/IT moHKbpQfMkVxBy3T9vM3feKMorB2Q6N7+P4r/aKRJ06RZCBwICXNGyWWVgAajx6m nloKDR+KWkHzPezc9MxiRL0m+rsOSWW32VzCh1lLYN6BLMDcILPyojfWPU+jrNu0 hAlxjF2+SAxsNBk+xfudUaM9USkHuRM0+SXgQkfHoVjsiI8mZX61CXe6gHl6Z2c3 3JY9Xp74+sN9qa+B0h5vXRPAq7jxYjpKtHY9L1ifMa2ysZp2nBYFyTe6lqsNUpDc OqYEESWeblDUVylQyFc3guGasFMvIK/XoeiVE2dI51RiC7Rp2nMOXiJ8bjxkVlp+ je+5x+Ibk7wv+0R3G3WDSfCkiAH8tavheIz8ZKR4eJ/5f+HT0d4Z2Vu+bHWGxpDD lCgg8H2faKtxOzQvmGQwIc4Mt+s8WtrhbiUlyM9De0DySKk4d+nkx/qM7W274XGW HyBLdz2iHVzWPy+7c+pyX4WZ/2HUFv9e7iwjHdwSrhCrSa/DsoBCqBW1ehsqLCu+ N2LGrNPEUr6mAwlaXFAo =9Cvi -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Thank you, this is the same as using "System Settings > Application Style > Widget Style > Applications > Configure" but there doesnt seem to be a setting for shadows :( On that topic though, is there a way to change the scroll bar thickness (even if its just some file I have to manually edit)? - -- Regards, Uzair Shamim -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJVQG5RAAoJEM66EOTZRH6+e0cP/iFzCUnvin9isk1uv3Wv5BK2 6Fytm01St/u/oCHXwhgGoBI0/g5CEJlnarYJxyxjz2hl1EU22ZKgZ+TH5SfB5q2o /yugn1UJZrvIImV2KrFI5qLIwm/frXOojE/wkv4aCNYO16U8WT0sNpMT2eG0uIje PD55rgdYjhIGTFciJZ5ZJbw9f5WFzKpPOkhq9du7faHBnk+i5RTfjrtV+fN3Yadh OmHPtDq7dOLIOAzC+VURyPdD42DFt/I3uvFQ0+T+VIxKE0wTeEgPbvvM76qNkEtm Ut56/yRy2REsD2s3gGtv/8DGytR3ju3f190rL35YL0IQuyQOMjVDsDWHW+n1vLb0 ZTefS75LBXOfsjap6BEuZyHjDgtMulASCMdcrDzyZhfe2WiDmyf2Q9wrd33ArNE4 ysWucAuayWvpdFcpBfSpkTTvGo5/DesgL12vMBEBeAZiWPmpa2NR8bLx/OWsk4Uy VkhbPgmoAwPCq22g3tRojEYVdzjif7cJF2e/KskdlTtcQXOvqTiDDdc/7VHJYS4S W8o8oN78hko4LOZ1h9sUMSRQ/XVKosGRfl/unR/NxeJqqdg4P77nyttfEzkJ5Kgd 0XU0Y7KXAz/lp4/lACN7kGmelhRt0nVaHAoqKxB0YfE+vjM/9mo5b22YCGWPIQhq K+mqRNGG6u9oMHP45yC4 =rQDZ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

It's most likely a bug. There must be a missing library if the button is greyed out. If you like changing the look of your windows, I find it a must for any user. It's the only tool that can change Plasma 5 from a flat look. Good Luck! Yep, I have used it in the past and it is pretty great (in fact I was using it before I switched to plasma 5!). Definitely. Notwithstanding the muted kaleidescope in the splash and default desktop background, little but various shades of grays on borderless seas of grays, with skinny half-width hard-to-target scrollbars, often in places that there shouldn't even be a scrollbar at all, like a select list with as little as 4 items total that shows only 2.5 or less at a time. http://fm.no-ip.com/SS/KDE/kf5F22BorderlessPoorA11YbyDefault-132 :-( -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
