[opensuse-kde] Network Status Section - kio_sysinfo
Network Status < Traditional Method with ifup > At this time, we see that Network Status shows: Unknown network status Shouldn't we see Online? The only time we see that the we are online is if the NetworkManager is enabled. Many users use the default setting such as my desktop. I suggest that rather than seeing Unknown network status, we see "You are online" Any thoughts? The ability to mount/unmount ("remove safely") would be nice. At least I've heard a few people complain about that missing in kde4 version of sysinfo. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

If memory serves me well... In openSUSE 11.1, KDE4 used to allow users to mount/unmount partitions. I could install 11.1 and check. Cheers! Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

I've implemented unmounting icon on right side of every removable partition and generally improved layout: http://zajec.net/blog/2009-kio_sysinfo-gets-some-love It went to openSUSE 11.2. I was not able to modify right-click-menu just inside kio_sysinfo. I had to modify KDE for this but it was too late to backport changes to KDE 4.3. However if you're using KDE 4.4 (openSUSE 11.3 has it by default), right menu will provide you unmounting options. -- Rafał -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Any thoughts about default setting of Network Status Mine shows "Unknown network status". This is incorrect when using ifup. Sysinfo can check and pass on the network status for eth0. Especially, if the user uses cable. I think Gnome is able to do that. Any thoughts?
