Hi, I have installed a fresh new Suse 8.0 system, and upgraded KDE to 3.0.2 When I am logged in via kdm, and want to logout I use the K => logout option. The only choise I get now, is to "save session for future login" while on other kde systems I get a nice option menu, where I can choose between: - login as different - turn off computer - restart computer Does anybody now where I can find the magick switch to enable this menu option ? Thanks, Peter.

That could be related to security settings, specifically the setting of file permissions. After I installed SuSE 8.0, it was set to "Easy", I changed it to "Secure". This might have caused a different logout dialog of KDE. Before it was login/turn-off/restart, now only logout. Leen

Someone "convinced" me in private mail to check this hypotesis. Result: It's just like I said. Yast-> Security and Users-> Security settings-> Miscellaneous settings (click "Next" button 5 times)-> Setting of file permissions: * Easy: login/turn-off/restart; kdm: no password for shutdown/reboot * Secure: logoff; kdm: password for shutdown/reboot Leen
