Hi there! First of all, many thanks to all of you. I didn't expect so fast and lot of reply, wow! I tried the solution of xmms-kde and it worked at once. If I can only comment on this issue, there is only a small bug I noticed. Just after the installation of xmms-kde, XMMS is using the arts plugin, but on the menu it appears the oss is still used, instead. Thanks again a lot. Alberto

Then I think, your xmms is _not_ using arts right now. XMMS does not use arts only because the plugin was installed. You must configure xmms to use it. I assume it worked with oss now, because you didn't use arts for some seconds and it suspended itself. Then xmms works with oss. If you want to use xmms with arts, then you have to go in the options of xmms and change the output plugin by hand. Greets, Daniel
