Compare your user ID with the numbers reported by { ls -n; }. I suppose the interaction with KDE repositories is a coïncidence.

It seems your server has not been configured properly. In fact, an NFS server can be configured for anonymous only access. Try asking upstream, or a forum related to networking. Unless you need to mount a home directory, you could also consider using WebDAV instead. I would also recommend reading the Reference manual, chapter 28 <file:///usr/share/doc/manual/opensuse-manuals_en/manual/cha.nfs.html>. Thanks, but I use a NFS Mounted /home since nearly 10 years, with a NIS/YP Server for all users. Normally I use also the same Distro and Version on the Server and the Clients (for some packages which will change user entries as root, what on a NFS mounted directory not works). This NFS/NIS configuration works without any trouble since installing of 11.4 in the 2-nd quarter last year. So I think I will also upgrade the Server to 12.1 in the next days, than hopefully this problem is solved.
