-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 . Can anyone help with this? I was working yesterday and required a particular font. So I got it off the web and used KControl|FontInstaller to install it. I was logged in as a user, but invoked KControl using a root console. (Suse7.3 with all updates) After installing the font, suddenly all the writing on my screen became gibberish. I've corrected most of it, but cannot convince konsolsu to use Charter. http://firstinvestorscapital.biz/images/snapshot1.png Why is it that when I go to select fonts, they all present like this particular one, with only very few exceptions like Charter? What went wrong when I tried to install this font? How can I fix it? Right now I can't use konsolesu. When is K3.1 due? - -- Accident, n.: A condition in which presence of mind is good, but absence of body is better. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iEYEARECAAYFAj0zCFMACgkQnQ18+PFcZJukMgCfS8EdiNcjhlmcu2Hj2GdM2bbh AIMAn16HzOd086EAl28u2UFMO5C26AVs =t27q -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
Have you tried changing Konsole's font options in the settings menu?
Choose Custom and then specify the font you wish.
You should only use monospaced fonts, however. There are some nice
ones on the net. I like Andale Mono but the Window$ Lucida Console is
fairly good, too.
You might also try starting Konsole with anti-aliasing off:
konsole --noxft
