Can any one point me to what might need to be tweaked to make it work? ======================= Ralph, If what you are seeing is the same thing I remember the first time I clicked on a text file with the new Konq in SuSE 8.0, you are getting either VI or VIM coming up. What you will need to do is change the programs used to open text files setup by KDE. Just right click on the .txt file and go to Edit File Type. When the window opens, you will see that VIM is the default reader listed in the "Application Preference Order" list. Change or add the reader you want, I usually prefer KWrite or KEdit and make sure your selection is the top most name in the list. Apply it and all of your .txt files should now be set.
