[opensuse-kde] plasmoid-devicemanager
I just got round to testing this on 11.1, and it hangs plasma-desktop immediately, spinning in the event loop. It runs on trunk but the layout of the popup is wrong (tiny popup) and it has no config UI (but lots of hidden settings in the code. Am I testing the wrong thing or is this really flaky code? Ok, reproduced on factory with 4.3, so I will see if the error is fixable.

Yes I was, devicenotifier-refactor is not manager. Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

The applet is spaghetti code. Since it has the potential to unmount anything the user can unmount and hang your Plasma while doing this, I am against including it in 11.2. Uh, yes, that would be bad. there is quite often the case that someone unplugged some USB device while it is mounted. And the kernel hangs than when trying to unmount it. So you would need to reboot your system, just to get plasma working again. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Hi Will, As far as I can remember, I revoked the request to have plasmoid- devicemanager included into 11.2. This because we found a better solution, which currently is even in kdereview. The package is device-automounter and is much more integrated in KDE4 and works behind the screen. This one would be the most optimal one for inclusion and I have a SR waiting for this one already since sometime (SR#15724) Regards Raymond -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
