Any type of symptoms? Can you get into run level 3? What happens when you try to get to run level 5? What video card? Are you sure it isn't that you had Nvidia / Ati driver loaded before the Kernel was updated? If your using a Beta version of KDE, you should def be able to give us more precise issues you are having with booting.. The KDE4 on 10.3GM is now very out of date, pull the beta3 packages from the KDE:KDE4 repository at download.opensuse.org before you try again. You can do this via command line: sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4/openSUSE_10.3/ "KDE4 Build Service" Or, bring up the run command and type Software and it'll search for programs starting with software. You'll see software repositories listed, add it, then again do it again for software management. I will do that, had to reinstall, might not have the KDE:KDE4 repo added.. - -- Have a nice day, M9. Now, is the only time that exists. What's the word on RC1. According to the release schedule, it was supposed to be tagged today. Are we on schedule? And I thought I was impatient :o) .. Here is what is on the roadmap: October 24, 2007: Tagging Release Candidate 1, Tagging KDE Development Platform Release Candidate 1 of the Desktop is prepared, initially tested and released on October 30. Does that mean it doesn't actually get released until the 30th? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

I know it wouldn't be available today, I was just wondering if we were on target for the tag But in general, suse packages appear a few days earlier than the official release Anders -- Madness takes its toll --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

No tag yet: http://websvn.kde.org/tags/KDE/ But here are some words I scrawled about the release process, to keep you entertained while waiting: http://arstechnica.com/journals/linux.ars/2007/10/24/kde-development-platfor... Well, i followed the KDE4 since 10.3 beta2, and sent also some screenshots to this list... But since a x-server update, i had to reinstall to the original GM. But now i just get to the green bootscreen, and in the upper left corner is a little message with an okay button, which brings me back to the loginscreen. (i choose KDE4 previeuw from the loginscreen..) I installed all the newest pkgs, but nothing changed, that's why i asked. I did or do not use proprietary ati drivers, because the drivers coming with suse work allright, except for compiz and beryl, which turn off the 3D support when trying to use them.... i will post the message from x here.. (there was no way of copying, so i have to write it down..) (The desktop did and does not load, that is all i can say at the moment..) - -- Have a nice day, M9. Now, is the only time that exists.
