[opensuse-kde] KDE kicker response is extremely slow
I am experiencing, from time to time, but not always, an extremely slow response from the KDE kicker. If I click on anything in the kicker bar, it can take several minutes for the system to respond to the click. But anything open, shell windows for example, remain quite responsive. Running TOP and vmstat do not show me any processes taking up a lot of cpu time or swapping. I have sifted through log files for Xorg, messages, etc to see if anything is showing up there. Nada... I am running SuSE11.0 and KDE 3.5 on a dual core 64bit Athalon system. Ideas? Thanks in advance for help in diagnosing and fixing this rather annoying problem... do you run the plain kicker / KDE from openSUSE 11.0 or did you install the buildservice KDE:KDE3 repository? when kicker is hanging, can you please start "gdb -p $(pidof kicker)", enter "bt, <enter>" and then "quit <enter>" and post the output?
