Hello all.. I have installed suse 9.0 and it was working fine,but today i.e after a gap of 2 weeks when i tried to boot my system and login into my account i couldn't not login from the GUI provided by kde3.0. I tried to login using the failsafe mode and then tried to run "startx" but then also it gives me msg as fatal error and i cannot get the desktop environment of my account. I can login into my account from the console(both as root and normal user) but i really don't understand why i cannot login from the GUI. Any suggestions or help is highly appreciated. Probably your X Konfiguration is broken - under Windows you would say: reinstall the grafix driver. Under SuSE: login as root, start "yast" goto hardware - grafic card & monitor and reconfigure your X Windows... then everything should work again Enjoy!

Hi Try using "sax2" which will re-configure KDE/X for you. What are the error you get when you try starting the GUI? Ian
