[opensuse-kde] KDE 4.12 and Tumbleweed testing requested
Hi all, I've imported all of KDE 4.12 into openSUSE:Tumbleweed:Testing, and it seems to mostly build properly, with the exception of some branding packages, which I'm guessing is not really needed: https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor/openSUSE:Tumbleweed:Testing Anyway, if some of you could test it out and let me know if it works or not, that would be greatly appreciated. And thanks go out to Jiri Slaby for doing the hard work in getting this into Tumbleweed. He got the package lists all correct, I just ran a script :) thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Branding can be just pulled from update repo - only thing needed is a rebuild against kde4-filesystem (aditionally, there is a chance kdebase4-openSUSE rebuild would be needed). Due to changes done few months ago, those rebuilds shall now be needed only on major version bumps (4.11 -> 4.12), not like in the past (4.11.1 -> 4.11.2). The unresolvables i saw on the monitor, should be resolved by Prefer: xyz in prjconf. Cheers, Hrvoje

So, what exactly should I put as a "Prefer" target here: Prefer: openSUSE:13.1:Updates and then just remove the branding packages entirely? confused, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

1) Remove 12.3 branding ;-) 2) After repo gets calculated, add Prefer: $wanted_package, not $wanted_repo if needed. Cheers, Hrvoje

Up and running and I see no obvious problems. Should I notice anything today, I will report. tks much, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

So, with the release of 4.12.2 into the KDE build repos, I've now caught Tumbleweed up and I _think_ it's all ok. Any objection for me releasing this on the rest of the Tumbleweed world as a "real" update now? Anything I should be waiting for? thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Greg, I don't think so. KDE 4.12.2 should be fine Regards Raymond -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Ok, thanks, I've now added them to the repo and in a day or so all Tumbleweed users will have them. If you all remember, could you let me know if there are any updates in the future (package movements, updates to new releases, etc.) that I should be aware of to handle any issues. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
