[opensuse-kde] NIS / YP Bind error with KR47 (user and group are nobody and not the right one)
Hello, I've since some days a special problem with my NFS-Mounted Home directory. So if I open a terminal/konsole, and make a 'ls -als ~' I see that the owner are not myself xxx and groupe yyy, it looks like nobody and group nobody. On a secound desktop with same repositorys, but without KR47, I see with the same user the right owner. Also on the server itself, the owner is correct. So the main problem with this error, I don't have access to my restricted settings like kwallet and so on (so I can't also use kmail and the Webbrowser with kwallet). Kernel: Linux 3.1.4-1-desktop x86_64 Distribution: openSUSE 12.1 (x86_64) KDE: 4.7.4 (4.7.4) "release 11" I whis you a happy new year Ulf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I don't think this is kde related, I think it is systemd related. I'm guessing you are using nfsv4, and that the nfs services (rpc_pipefs and rpc.idmapd) aren't starting. If this matches your environment, it is a bug in systemd that has been reported in bugzilla. As a workaround, you can either switch to sysvinit, which works, or you can mount the pipefs manually with mount -t rpc_pipefs rpc_pipefs /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs and then start idmapd with startproc /usr/sbin/rpc.idmapd if you do this while the nfs directory is unmounted, the next time it mounts you should see the correct user IDs.
