Hello, was someone able to install the kvim.rpm from http://www.suse.de/us/private/download/linuks/i386/update_for_8_0/extra.html... I installed the rpm (with no error message) but afterwards kvim didn't work. This means that the command 'kvim' resulted in 'bash: kvim: command not found'. Ciao

Sebastian, I too find that Kvim no longer works since 3.0.3 update. I didn't get any errors from the new program either, yet I cannot get anything when trying to run it from a console. I am noticing also that my kicker panel comes up with everything pushed to the left of the screen now. I had things spaced out neatly to the right, center and left and now when KDE comes up, everything is pushed to the left of the panel. Anyone have a clue on this? that *might* be possible that the kvim command (to be found in /opt/kde3/bin) is a softlink that points to /opt/kde3/bin/vim which should be in the kvim rpm but isnt. (which can easily be found when doing rpm -ql kvim) seems to be a bad package. bye, MH

and btw, grab the corrected rpm package I made from ftp://ftp.eregion.de/pub/ it's linked against kde 3.0.2 but you could rebuild the src.rpm. bye, MH

No answer to the kvim question sorry... it annoys me so I use it not... I use vi(m) from command line and kate or nedit from the gui...

Yes, this I noticed, though slightly differently... I have the panel centred at 50% which should mean it has to stretch to accomodate stuff. However, it tags on 5 or 6 mm extra at the right hand side... as if it wants extra stuff... it's fixable as things move, but it wont shrink to the min size required... definitely a bug, but not really a problem one... Obviously, yours is more serious if a 100% panel is shifted left... Scary! -- Sean Keane
