[opensuse-kde] small cd/dvd problem
when I tgry to view a dvd or cd, it says only root can mount them Permissions on the devices are bob/disk I changed the media permissions to the same, with the same result. Still using 10.0, could upgrade if the dvd worked. -- Bob Rea mailto:gapetard@stsams.org http://www.petard.us http://www.petard.us/blog http://www.petard.us/gallery Where is Bill Stringfellow now that we really need him? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Hi bob, if I remember correctly in 10x version you have a line in /etc/fstab that reference your cd/dvd device like /dev/cdrom etc ... I don't remember if hal & kde3 are able to auto-mount devices at this version. but if you remove the line (just comment it with a # in front of ) and restart your computer to check if in kde you can access it. (Nota there's no need for the upgrade with the dvd, just boot on it :-) -- Bruno Friedmann bruno@ioda-net.ch Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member User page http://en.opensuse.org/User:Bruno_friedmann Blog http://lizards.opensuse.org/author/bruno_friedmann/ fsfe fellowship www.fsfe.org (bruno.friedmann (at) fsfe.org ) tigerfoot on irc GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
