konqueror and cookies not working
Hi Group, - I'm running SuSE9.1/2.6.5-7.108-default kernel with Konqueror 3.2.1, all plain vanilla. -I've noticed however, that I'm not able to properly access web-sites requiring session cookies. They don't seem to be written to disk. The problem is actually across all browsers; Firefox, Opera and even IE in CrossOver. - This leeds me to suspect a SuSE9.1 problem, not a KDE/konqueror problem. Has anyone a clue to this? PS: one small question to the experts :-) I've installed Firefox as a regular user, when I try to start it with "./firefox", I get access denied to window 0:0 and so forth. I remedy it with "xhost +localhost". Has anyone an explanation to this strange thing or a permanent solution? -- ------------------------------- Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard Open Source Academy +45 5696 4223 www.os-academy.dk -------------------------------

I've a problem with the Konqueror window opening on top of the cookie window. Check your taskbar for cookie. Rich

I have problems updating kontact with kde 3.3 on suse 9.1. the 31.08.04 version of kde-pim i could install. but i do niot succeed in installing korganizer. yast reports a lot of unresolved dependencies, most of them are wrong, as i find the files in kde-pim. when i want install other software, the cryptoplugin is always selected by yast for installation. if i agree, kontakt 3.3 is downgraded. any ideas wolfgang

SOLVED! Hi Gurus :-) The Firefox advice worked, thanks! The cookie problem went away as I did an online update to KDE3.3 (Don't know why, really...) BTW thanks to "Delta99" on the list for pointing out how-to do such an update. Best regards, Verner Kjaersgaard Denmark.

Update to the latest MozillaFirefox from SuSE update tree with YOU. Their version 0.93 has a fix for the can't open problem. The cookie thing sounds like a permission problem. Not sure how you have them installed, but my guess is you don't have permission to write to their directories.
