[opensuse-kde] OpenSync and KDE
Hello, I want to sync my Nokia N97 with KOrganizer from Kontact. I use openSUSE 11.1 and try to learn about OpenSync. I would like to know, does the libopensync-plugin-kdepim that comes with openSUSE 11.1 support KDE 4 or only KDE 3? I use KDE 4.3.5. Syncing is an embarrassment right now. KDE PIM put its bets on OpenSync years ago, but that hasn't made a stable release yet. Now people are working on a SyncML solution, but I'm not sure how complete that is yet.

Ha! I managed to sync my Nokia N97 with the calendar from Korganizer! And it does not require the kdepim plugin, the file plugin and obex is sufficient for Korganizer. Not necessarily... I found one service that looks good: scheduleworld.com http://wiki.scheduleworld.com/wiki/Linux_KDE_4_Configuration It needs a package named SyncEvolution, that also works with KDE and if you create an account there you can sync your mobile with KOrganizer via scheduleworld.com. Not everyone may like it to save their sensitive data in the cloud, at least there is a service that works.
