[opensuse-kde] Qt4.7 repo needed for Kde:/Distro:/Factory?
i've asked this on the KDE mailing list already, but now i think opensuse-kde is a better place. when some KDE packages came up for update today, most of them showed unresolveable dependencies for libqt-x11 >= 4.7.2. i found these in KDE:/Qt47, added the repo, and solved the dependencies with vendor change. wondering if this is a permanent requirement, or perhaps my mirror didn't have the latest libqt-x11 available yet? -- phani. openSUSE 11.4 KDE:/Distro:/Factory, and now also KDE:/Qt47 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

The qt library dependencies are available in KDE:Distro:Factory. They are just direct copies of the versions in KDE:Qt. However, with the switch to Qt 4.7.2 the repositories keep updating so the package dependencies get out of whack. You should probably just avoid updating until everything settles down, at which point you won't need the KDE:Qt repository anymore. Stuff is moving around for 11.4 release, and KDE SC 4.6.1 is imminent, Qt 4.7.2 was just released. thank you, but i wasn't chilled enough and updated already, using Qt47. so far everything is fine. wouldn't have done that if i'd read your posts earlier. should be ok (i hope) to stop updating now, since zypper ve is still happy with my packages. then, after a few days or so, switch the Qt47 packages back to K:D:F. Thanks - my system is fine right now and I'm busy using it for work. Didn't realize stuff was in a state of upheaval. I'll wait for dust to settle.
