[opensuse-kde] Issue with NetworkManager AP mode
Hi, I'm on openSUSE 13.2 and I have a problem concerning network manager running with my laptop's wifi card in access point mode. Here is what I have done and what I got. I open the Network Manager connection editor window and do the following: Connection editor Add -> Wireless Shared New connection window General configuration Tab Automatically connect: Unchecked All users may connect: Unchecked Wireless Tab Mode: Access Point Wireless Security Tab Security: Wpa Personal Password: <shared connection wifi password> IPv4 Tab Method: Shared to others After I click OK, the connection shows up in the available connection list. When I click on the Connect button to activate it, a popup window appears with the message: System policy prevents sharing a connection via a protected WiFi network And ask for the root password to perform this action. After I enter the root password, the AP becomes active and other devices can connect to my laptop's WIFI using the password I defined for the AP. My question is: Why do I need to ented the root password each time I want to activate the AP I have created? Is this a sort of misconfiguration of polkit/NetwotkManager/KDE? How can I avoid that?
