Last week(?) there was a problem with the kdenetwork3-mail 3.1.1-35 and the fact that new folders could only belong to the "top level". I just ran apt-get / synaptic and there is a -47 version which seems to have fixed the problem. Just thought I'd bring it to your attention. Kmail is the first app I've opened since this mini kde upgrade so I'm not sure if any new problems will rear their ugly heads, but I'll let you know if I find any. -- Franklin Maurer Using SuSE 8.1

Now that I got a working Kontact I just had to try the update you mentioned, The folders do indeed seem to work properly now, but the settings -->Configure Kmail menu has dissapeared from the main window. It is in the compose window though, and can also be accessed through the toolbar if desired. I'll probably go back to Kontact for awhile since I worked so hard to get it working (simple solutions to mysterious problems) See ya - -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+jK2jBwgxlylUsJARAnziAJ9oM6vNLKcFM8JZXrKFxm7t68l1BACdGPmm JuAZGBbu2mCTQwINxFybA+U= =BB/J -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Through this you "downgraded" to the normal kmail again, which doesn't recognize some values, kmail-kontact made to your kmmainwin.rc file. go to ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail. There you will hopefully find a backup of your previous kmmainwin.rc named kmmainwin.rc.backup. Copy it over to kmmainwin.rc and the normal kmail will be okay again. Greets, Daniel

Amazing! thanks for the tip, I may still go back to Kontact. My quest to waste time upgrading my system will almost require this ;-) See ya - -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+jLERBwgxlylUsJARAiNJAJ9lzlV4BmdJUgJ5lEyZ5qMvSBQtbQCffdVv e8ZPpxEvzv7KsPe4ShuMylQ= =AFMs -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
