No battery control applet after upgrade to 3.2.2 & other bugs
Hi, as per subject, i have no more the battery control applet after the upgrade. Also, the K menu has the same bug of the firs 3.2.1 builds, i.e. the sub menus are detached from the main menu. Non "open new session" in the menu, indeed. Any Suggestion?

I have the same problems. Also, in 3.2.1 when I pressed the volume control buttons on my laptop I had a window popped up showing the volume control changes for a second or so. Now the buttons don't work again. -- Cheers James Ots www.jamesots.com
No battery control either. And I can't seem to find the cause. Still looking though. Chris Shanahan On Monday 26 April 2004 09:51, James Ots wrote:

Has anyone found the cause of the missing action "Open New Session". Andrew On Monday 26 April 2004 14:43, Luca Botti wrote:

Hi all just to let you know I resolved the missing Start New Session Menu Entry. This entry dynamically appears when sessions are defined in your Xservers file (/etc/X11/xdm/Xservers). I added the following two lines at the bottom of the file. :1 local reserve /usr/X11R6/bin/X :1 vt08 :2 local reserve /usr/X11R6/bin/X :2 vt09 You need to restart kdm so do an init 3 followed by init 5 or rckdm restart Unsure why the new RPMs have removed these extra lines - previous releases had many others but I never start more than a few sessions on the console (via XDMCP is another matter). I have such an Xservers file in /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm which contains these entries (:0 to :5). Is this file missing on your system? I think /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers is only a fallback for kdm. Mario

Hi Mario, I have 8.2 heavily upgraded with rpms and compiles although kde is only upgraded from SuSE. Your contents were the same as mine until 2 days ago when I install 3.2.2 rpms from SuSE. They seem to have dropped all the non vt7 lines from the rpm. Also my kdmrc does not get upgraded as mine is heavily customize as I have a few screens running ximera and I position my kdm layout the way I wish and not the default way. Have compared the two and no real difference in what was ther and what I have (structurally). I also have XDMCP configured as my laptops connect using cygwin/X. So when you download and install the 3.22 rpm be prepared to change you file. I didn't add the vt10 - vt12 lines as I don't tend to start that many sessions.
