After all the changes and switching around of packages on my system, to make it more consistent with SuSE15.3, it is interesting that I am now seeing some error messages that weren't in the system logs when I first asked my question about why kdeinit5 was failing. I don't grok these error messages but will post them here. 2022-06-26T17:43:46.428657-07:00 nova dbus-daemon[2688]: Cannot setup inotify for '/var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/dbus-1/services'; error 'Permission denied' 2022-06-26T17:43:46.429073-07:00 nova dbus-daemon[2688]: [session uid=465 pid=2688] Activating via systemd: service name='org.a11y.Bus' unit='at-spi-dbus- bus.service' requested by ':1.1' (uid=465 pid=2675 comm="/usr/sbin/lightdm-gtk-greeter ") 2022-06-26T17:43:46.434081-07:00 nova systemd[2656]: Starting Accessibility services bus... 2022-06-26T17:43:46.503940-07:00 nova at-spi-bus-laun[2690]: Unable to open /var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/dconf/profile/user: Permission denied 2022-06-26T17:43:46.505275-07:00 nova dbus-daemon[2688]: [session uid=465 pid=2688] Successfully activated service 'org.a11y.Bus' 2022-06-26T17:43:46.505344-07:00 nova systemd[2656]: Started Accessibility services bus. 2022-06-26T17:43:46.579316-07:00 nova dbus-daemon[2688]: [session uid=465 pid=2688] Activating via systemd: service name='org.gtk.vfs.Daemon' unit='gvfs-d aemon.service' requested by ':1.3' (uid=465 pid=2675 comm="/usr/sbin/lightdm-gtk-greeter ") For the Permission denied messages, the problem is caused by the following missing directory - /var/lib/flatpak/exports/ I have no idea if this is serious and what to do about it, but it does seem relevant.
