I have had a lot of luck with backintime. It has both gnome and kde backends, and overall has a lot of really good features.
Can it use rsync daemon/modules on a NAS, i.e. something like:
rsync server-ip::module
I could not find any other tool that can use them but luckybackup. I checked time-drive (duplicity) and backintime.
Does either of these backup apps support unattended non-user login backup? (system is on but no user is logged in)
luckybackup can create cron jobs.
I use kbackup from Extra for this, in cron.daily. It has worked well.
I think kbackup did not see any commit for a year or more, i.e. is unmaintained.
Hey, I use even with kbackup preferences because it is reliable and easy to use. I mean but also the care of the packet kbackup is not like it would be necessary if this tool would be by default there. -- Grüße aus dem Schwabenland, … Linuxsusefan … … openSUSE Member … … die "SuS(i)E" sei mit euch, wo immer ihr seid … … wer die "SuS(i)E" nicht kennt, hats Leben verpennt …
