Hi,
in earlier openSUSE and KDE releaeses it was possible to use the "protocol" audiocd in konqueror. This resulted in a presentation of the files on the audiocd and some fake directories like MP3. When I used this yesterday on openSUSE-11.4 and Konqueror-4.6.2 it shows the (wav) files, the fake directories, etc, but when I tried to copy the files the copied files have a 0 (zero) bytes size. :(
What is the reason for this, is this a known bug (I searched for it, but could not find it)? Is there a way to debug this?
I have been able to retrieve the files, via an old openSUSE version I've but it would be so nice if this functionality would be working in the openSUSE-11.4 that I have.
I tried using audiocd:// and had the same experience as you it gave no indication of progress - I figured it must have hung so I killed it after a while. I assumed I was missing some package/codec as is often the case with multimedia apps - but with no obvious way to get debug output I abandoned the investigation. k3b worked great though (it has a menu option "Rip Audio CD", install the necessary codecs beforehand).
