Since upgrading to 4.11 I get as a login screen a plain grey screen with a rectangle in the central which shows "Welcome to linux-67gf.site and with a line where I am to enter the person's name who is logging on; after I enter the name and press ENTER the line where the password has to entered appears. There are no other options available - like selecting which desktop I want or whether I want to exit or reboot.
That's the fallback DM, meaning KDM is not starting. Maybe the upgrade changed DISPLAYMANAGER in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager? Did you reboot after the upgrade?
I always reboot even if there is no message stating that there are some running files which need to be restarted.
What do I need to check, please, in order to get the normal login
graphics back again - the login screen which comes with 12.3?
