I can't get k3b to work. I've upgraded my KDE installation from the SUSE homepage, but when K3B come up it tells me that cdrecord and cdrdao are not being run with root privileges. I can't find anything in the settings to change this....I assume the settings dialog is K3bSetup, since I can't seem to find it anywhere else.
How do I make K3B on 3.2.2 work? It worked on the stock installation of KDE. Any ideas would be welcome.
Thanks andy My sympathies. In the end I have resorted to compiling the source obtained from k3b.kde.org
Take note of the messages reported when the ./configure script finishes - you may need to install optional dependencies such as flac-devel. I used the standard source install procedure (./configure && make && su -c "make install") and then updated the rpm database by using checkinstall to create an rpm followed by rpm -Uvh ?/path/to/checkinstall-created.rpm? In addition I also had to revert to the version of dvd+rw-tools supplied with SuSE 9.1 You may be interested to know the part of what k3bsetup does is to change permissions for cdrdao and cdrecord to octal 4710. hth Regards, Sylvanus -- Once again, we come to the Holiday Season, a deeply religious time that each of us observes, in his own way, by going to the mall of his choice.
