I use apt only for my updates, as it is a really helpfull tool | for these things. To which advantages do you refer, the advantages of using | apt or the new kde. | | Apt is fast and always right (my own opinion). Apt is able to install a | difficult build environment while yast can't (at least I was not able to do | it with yast). | | kde is just faster more polished has more functions and kde-3.2 is around the | corner. It will be released this month! | Hmm.. I was going upgrade to the beta this weekend but if you say the final version will be out this month maybe I'll wait.. Sorry i should have specified KDE, as I use synaptic all the time (just lazy and gui's make me lazier ;^) But when I do UG I'll follow your steps.. They look pretty complete.. When you UG'd did you lose kdebase-suse? If you did lose it, do you notice anything different??
