Since updating my Suse 9.2 to KDE 3.4, Xvnc (started via xinetd) does not start KDE anymore.
When I connect to the specified port, I get a grey screen and an X mouse pointer, but no KDE login. I get nothing in .xsession-errors (I guess because Xvnc is being started by user nobody) and nothing in /var/log/messages.
vncserver works OK.
Sounds like the the ~/.vnc/xstartup needs to be edited. I think you can simply comment all the lines in this file. Then add: /opt/kde3/bin/startkde
Then restart the vncserver.
I am not talking about vncserver. This works OK. I am talking about Xvnc, that is being started via xinetd. Thomas
