What YOU was suppose to do/be.

I've noticed that YOU was said to just be for system updates such as security and the like which puzzles me. Several SuSE people and other said that apt would no longer be needed once the 8.1 YOU was in full swing. Well, if one can't just install the newest software or software that wasn't previously installed then why would apt no longer be needed since YOU doesn't do these things. I think people get mad because they are under the impression that YOU was ment to do what apt does. Am I wrong?
