Just for the record the current kdeaccessibility3-3.5.9-12.6 still doesn't provide a reliable audio volume OSD. Neither for an existing KDE user nor for a fresh one. Gnome, however, has no problems neither with OSD nor with the audio master channel. The last kdeaccessibility3-3.5.8 package worked. However I can't find it nowhere.
