"Suddenly" (or so it seems), I can not change wallpaper from the KDesktop configuration dialog.
<snip> Last time I saw this symptom, someone shared the same user between two setups, one having two monitors and one having only one. kdesktop doesn't like that, it turned out. Removing kdesktoprc and starting from scratch should help you though.
