Hi At least once a week my log into a desktop fails with a Plasma error unable to talk to Klaunch(er?). It gives me a desktop but i cannot launch anything, not even a logout. I have to resort for Ctrl Alt Backspace to exit. I'm not sure where to look for a this error to see what the problem is but i did get these 3 lines from the journal - does anyone know what the issue could be? I can log back in okay and then it works fine May 12 13:58:04 Bigmachine kdm[5773]: :0[5773]: pam_unix(xdm:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=:0 ruser= rhost= user=zips May 12 13:58:04 Bigmachine unknown[5773]: <audit-1100> pid=5773 uid=0 auid=4294967295 ses=4294967295 msg='op=PAM:authentication grantors=? acct="zips" exe="/usr/bin/kdm" hostname=? addr=? terminal=:0 res=failed' May 12 13:58:04 Bigmachine kernel: audit: type=1100 audit(1431435484.406:1872): pid=5773 uid=0 auid=4294967295 ses=4294967295 msg='op=PAM:authentication grantors=? acct="zips" exe="/usr/bin/kdm" hostname=? addr=? terminal=:0 res=failed' regards Ian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
