Hi there. I'm using KDE 3.0 on my SuSE 8.1 system. I just installed a development IDE and some other software on it and tried to show links to these apps in my KDE menus. The new entries are shown in the KDE menu editor (as root user) but they do not appear in the menus. My KDE menu editor shows a lot more entries then the menu shows. Are the links shown in the menu and in the menu editor stored in different locations? I already tried to copy the created links (I found them in /root/.kde/share/applnk) to /opt/kde3/share/applnk and restarted KDE. But nothing helped a bit. What do I have to do to make my new entries visible in the menu? Where is the menu layout stored on the hard disk? Can anyone please help me? I hate to continue starting my programs via a shell or via the "execute" menu item. And I don't want to have lots of icons on my desktop. Thx in advance. Kind regards Kay Zumbusch
