Just a small attempt at humour at your expense, Felix; it is you who calls 421 a "Leap of Faith", yes?.
It's a good shot, but mis-directed/attributed :) Try Basil...
It's not good. Leaping is usually associated with forward movement. This thread is about K5 in TW, well past 42.1. I don't even associate the word Leap with any openSUSE installation, sticking with the release number, same as in all previous releases. I have lots of 42.1 installations too, but as both KDE3 and TDE are available to choose from for those, none need or do have K5 installed. Back to the point of the thread, the goal is actually two, because seconds are inexplicably missing on every OS K5 login, not just one or a few, and only on the multiple OS logins, not on any of the Fedora installations: 1-make seconds show 2-identify reason why they don't Had I been able to reproduce this on Fedora too, I'd have gone to a KDE mailing list instead. AFAICR, I've tried stripping K5 settings from multiple logins' ~/.configs, which is a PITA due to upstream's inane intermingling of K5's many settings among other settings instead of confining them to one subdir or one or a very few files. Also tried was stripping all of $HOME except mc and login configs. Neither approach helped, which means there surely must be some kind of global configuration setting or unrequired requirement triggering the problem. And yes, most are the result of upgrades rather than fresh TW installations, but not all. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
