The current version of phonon-vlc is conflicting with the updated version of vlc in packman, since it requires exactly vlc-nox-2.1.0 while the current version of vlc-nox is 2.1.1. I am using openSUSE-13.1 but it it is probably a problem for openSUSE-12.3 as well. Probably should dependency be relaxed (bnc#851063). Issue should not happen with 12.3, as phonon-vlc was not present in that distro version ;-)
Would it be possible to link to the version of vlc in multimedia:libs and enable it for at least 12.3 and 13.1? The version in multimedia:libs is also 2.1.1. This part i don't understand, link where, and how would that help with vlc backend?
Sorry, I didn't make that clear. I mean linked in KR411. Currently it is building its own version of vlc. Linking to the version in multimedia:libs will guarantee that it doesn't get out of date again. The version in KDF is already linked to multimedia:libs, although it isn't enabled for most build targets. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
