BTW, both drives are Seagate Barracuda 1TB SATA 3 and are 2 years old.
Nothing seems really in bad state. Most of the time you could have 197 Current_Pending_Sector or 198 Offline_Uncorrectable Not being at 0 ... which means after a smartctl -t long you will have to poweroff the harddrive to be able "normally" to remap this failing sector. But take care with Barracuda 1T ( not enough information ) check if newer firmware are available and if yes load them. I've seen some series of Barracuda, just dying from one day to another and once died. No firmware update is possible. you can check the firmware level and exact model in the beginning of smartctl -a output -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch ------------------------ / openSUSE Member & Board \ / GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 \ \ irc: tigerfoot / \ / ------------------------ \ /@ --~-. \/ __ .- | // // @ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
