I've having weird responses using "Show Desktop".
With "Show Desktop" I suppose you mean the "Show Desktop" plasmoid?
Yes.
One one login if i have a program open and i press "show desktop", the desktop shows correctly but as soon as i click on a folder in my folder view on the desktop, the program that was moved away comes back instead of opening Dolphin to view the folder.
I think that's the intended behavior, and is what I see here too. If you open a new application (by clicking on a folder in your folderview) you "break" the "Show Desktop" state and all hidden windows reappear. Ok, I was expecting that you should press the widget again to make all the hidden windows reappear - my preferred action, hopefully this is or will be configurable.
What bothers me here is your mention of "instead" though. The hidden windows should reappear, *and* Dolphin should be opened with the corresponding folder. Does Dolphin open if you click on a folder on your folderview when not in "Show Desktop" state? Yes it does it fine when not in "Show Desktop" mode. I think as the icons inside my folder view are quite large, i may have been pressing on the icon just outside the area needed to launch dolphin which means i have to press "Show Desktop" again.
On one other user, pressing "show desktop" just makes the program that should be moved away, lose focus.
That's strange. Is this on the same system? Yes but a different user. When it loses focus, its still visible in full screen. This desktop is configured as "wallpaper/image/scaled". I'm finding that this happens now and again with different actions on different users but i think that is because i might be configuring things differently to try things out so i'm not too worried about it. I occasionally have some strange screen flickering when it flickers about 10 times in a second, usually kicked of by earlier versions of vivaldi. But it does happen without vivaldi (but very rarely) so the losing focus by staying visible might be related to that problem. Its working fine at the moment so its a random issue
I think there's a hidden config option to change "Show Desktop"'s behavior (at least there was in KDE4). I would have to search for that though. Try to remove ~/.config/kwinrc. I'll give that a try
Kind Regards, Wolfgang
