But there is absolutely no need to argue about the personal issues people have with either KDE3 or 4, the only important thing is whether the packaged code is maintained or not.
IMO, it is maintained.
In your opinion? And according to what logic? Or is your opinion your only argument? And what does that tell us? According to you Qt3+KDE3+KDE3-apps' code can be considered maintained with one guy packaging it and adding a few patches here and there. In former times with hundreds of developers who knew the code and dozens of professionals creating and maintaining the code it was what then – übermaintained? I'll ask again: who of those packaging KDE3 claims to know Qt3's code as well as the Trolltech employees knew and now know Qt4? Who claims to know KDE3's code? Who claims to know KDE3 apps' code? And who thinks one person is able to do the job dozens/hundreds did before with the same quality and competence? It's nothing personal or bad or whatever, it is simply impossible and simple maths. It's useless to argue if people ignore simple facts and logic and just stick to ideology.
