Hmmmm, confusing... Anyway:
When I tried to update kdegraphics3 I got the message that libglut.so.3 is needed by that package. I found that there are packages around containing this lib but I could not find a SuSE package.
No problem at all... http://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=libglut.so.3 SuSE packages are colored yellow. Look for the link path to see for what SuSE version they are.
Do I need it at all or is it one of the Nvidia files which I do not need in lack of such a graphics card? -> rpm -Fhv kdegraphics3.rpm --force or --nodep
Well, you can try --nodeps. Since kdegraphics is an additional package, this cannot break anything from the core functionality. Worst case is, that the graphic applications which needs libglut will not work.
Additionaly can anybody post some changes she or he discovered in KDE 3.1 already (minor as well as major)?
Changes to what version? 3.0? 2.2? 2.0? But better you read this: http://promo.kde.org/3.1/feature_guide.php and this: http://developer.kde.org/development-versions/kde-3.1-features.html and this: http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-3.1.php#changes
I already saw that the task bar fills with applications unlike earlier where programs (e.g. konqueror) kept the instances in a single pop up button. Can I change that behavior, and if where can I do that?
This behavior was configurable since it was availiable in KDE. Greets, Daniel
