I can't find a way to select a user agent in KDE 2.2.2. (Except for the site-by-site list in Preferences, of course.) Is this an enhancement in KDE 3.0?
Menu item 'Tools>Change Browser Identification' should be there in 2.2. It will bring up a list of browser id's from which to select.
My Tools menu has only:
Run Command Open Terminal Find File
You have to have an actual web url in the location string gadget ("localhost" works if apache is running) then the options in the tool menu change.
I assume that the "location string gadget" is the place under the menu bar where you enter a location, right? I tried entering various URLs there and none of them caused "Change Browser Id" to appear under "Tools".
You can also add a button to your toolbar Settings -> Configure Toolbars The one that looks like a hat "Change Browser Identification"
"Configure Toolbars" doesn't have "Change Browser Identification". "Bookmarks" is followed by "Configure Key Bindings".
And 'Help" confirms that I'm running V2.2.2.
The Change Browser Identification tool is one of a few Konqueror Plugins that are probably packaged separately and will appear in the Tools menu only if they have been installed. (Haven't got 8.0 running yet so I don't know what package they might be in, sorry) Pam
